Publicly Traded Live-Entertainment Companies: A 2026 Researcher's Guide

A researcher who wants a market read on live music through listed equities inherits a mapping problem before a valuation problem: which tickers actually carry the exposure? The answer is shorter than most screeners suggest, and every name on it needs a qualifier. This guide is the qualifier, built from the companies' own filings and maintained alongside the fuller Live Index equities framework.

The current list, and what each listing actually holds

Live Nation Entertainment is the anchor: promotion, venue operation and ticketing through its wholly owned Ticketmaster, reported across Concerts, Ticketing and Sponsorship & Advertising segments — the only listing close to a pure-play on the concert economy. Madison Square Garden Entertainment operates a venue portfolio in which concerts share revenue with residencies and other live events, and its marquee non-Garden hall, Radio City Music Hall, is leased rather than owned — a distinction documented in the Radio City ownership analysis. Sphere Entertainment pairs its Las Vegas venue with MSG Networks; Vivid Seats is a secondary marketplace in which concerts sit alongside sports and theatre; Venu Holding is a small-capitalization venue developer. None of these, other than Live Nation, is a concert-only signal, and treating any share price as one is a category error.

The European comparable

CTS Eventim, listed on XETRA and reported in euro, is Europe's largest listed ticketing and live-entertainment group. It appears in this guide as context — the scope is U.S.-listed companies, and the German listing is included only because it is already maintained on the Live Index market tape as the major European comparable.

Eventbrite: a former public comparable

Eventbrite belongs to the list's history, not its present. Its Form 10-K for fiscal 2025 states that its acquisition closed on March 10, 2026, that it requested suspension of NYSE trading, and that it would cease to be publicly traded. Any dataset, screener or article still carrying EB as a live public comparable is stale, and the comparison table below records the company as former with its filing basis attached.
