Why this segment exists
Rigging and staging is the least visible and most safety-regulated part of the production stack. It is also the part with the clearest link to festival and stadium activity: temporary structures are built for outdoor events at a scale that indoor rooms do not require, so the segment reads on festival supply rather than on club-level activity.
Revenue is contract-based and concentrated in a short outdoor season across much of the northern hemisphere, which gives the segment a seasonality that other segments do not share and which the index construction must not smooth away.
Eligibility
A company is assigned here when all hold
- The company manufactures or supplies structural staging, truss, rigging hardware, hoists or temporary event infrastructure.
- Event work is separable from general construction, industrial lifting or permanent-structure business.
Outside the boundary
- General construction and industrial crane hire are excluded.
- Permanent architectural steel is excluded.
