This page publishes the segment's eligibility rule and boundary. No sub-index level, constituent list or weight is reported, because none has been measured.
Why this segment exists
Audio and lighting is capital equipment sold or rented into a touring cycle. Demand follows the number and scale of tours rather than the price of an individual ticket, which makes the segment a lagging but relatively legible read on production activity: orders and rental utilisation move after tours are routed, not when they are announced.
The segment includes both manufacturers, whose revenue is recognised on sale, and rental and production-services businesses, whose revenue is recognised across a tour. The two behave differently through a cycle and are distinguished in the constituent record rather than merged.
Eligibility
A company is assigned here when all hold
- The company manufactures, distributes or rents professional audio or lighting systems specified for live performance.
- Live and touring applications are separable in the disclosure from installed commercial, broadcast or residential business.
- Revenue is recurring across tours or venue installations rather than tied to a single contract.
Outside the boundary
- Consumer audio brands are excluded; a domestic loudspeaker business is not live-economy exposure.
- Architectural lighting and general electrical contracting are excluded.
Qualifying activities
- Professional loudspeaker, console and amplification manufacture
- Entertainment lighting fixtures and control systems
- Touring audio and lighting rental and production services
Constituents
None. A company is listed here only once its live-revenue exposure has been measured from a primary document and the index has been released. Candidate records held to prove the record schema are withheld from publication and are not named on this page.
