Historical festival project record

A compiled record of documented historical festival projects, generated from the same typed archive the project pages render. Each edition carries its printed dates, day count, venue and place, the roster segments sources named, the person roles independent sources support, and every attendance, price and economic figure that was published for it. Measurements are stored with the measure type the publisher used, the party that produced the figure, the source identifier it was read from and any caveat that applies, so an attendance estimate, a model input and a paid-admission recollection stay three separate rows. Media entries carry URLs, credits and rights notes only; no third-party file is redistributed. Nothing is audited, averaged or interpolated, and a year with no published figure carries no measurement row.

Edition years 2009 to 2017. Measure types present: economic-output, employment, labor-income, paid-attendance, production-cost, reported-total-attendance, study-attendance, ticket-price, value-added-income. Unlike measures are recorded separately and never merged; an edition with no published figure carries no measurement row.

Variables measured

  • Project slug, name, locality, region and documented period
  • Edition year, printed start and end dates, and day count
  • Venue and place as the sources stated them
  • Documented roster segments and headline entries, each with a source identifier
  • Attendance and economic measurements with measure type, value as printed, attributing party and caveat
  • Documented person roles with the sources that support them
  • Ownership or operating notes affecting how an edition should be read
  • Source ledger: publisher, title, URL, publication date, tier and what each source supports
  • Media metadata: URL, credit, rights and archive link

What this dataset cannot show

  • Every figure is reproduced as published. None was independently audited, and most originate with the producers of the events or with reporting derived from them.
  • Unlike measures are never merged and no trend, index or per-edition impact estimate is computed from these records.
  • Editions with no published attendance or economic figure carry no measurement row. The absence records the state of the public record, not a value of zero.
  • Roster segments are the entries the sources named. They are not certified complete lineups.
  • Media rows are metadata and links; rights remain with the named creators and publishers.

Release notes

First release of the historical project record, generated from the same archive the project pages render.

Access

The record is released in full. Both files are generated from the same typed archive the project pages render, so a figure here and a row in a download cannot diverge. The JSON release carries every edition with its lineups, source ledger and media metadata; the CSV flattens the published measurements only, one measurement per row with its measure type and source attached.
